Many people are aware that they need to drink 64 oz of water a day, but is it common for people to think twice about the kind of water they are drinking? A fairly new, six-year-old company called Waiakea Water is breaking boundaries when it comes to average water. Waiakea Water is volcanic water that has a pH of 8.8, causing it to be sustainable and alkaline natural. A pH balance is important for the human body because the body needs to keep an average pH of about 7.4, which is considered to be neutral. Briefly explained, pH levels range on a scale from 0 to 14. The closer a substance is to 0 the more acidic it is and the closer to 14 a substance is, it is more alkaline based. Since 7 is between 0 and 14, 7 is the magic number for a substance to be considered neutral. According to research, most brands of water have a pH between 4 and 7. The amazing thing about the Hawaiian Waiakea volcanic water is that it has naturally occurring alkaline at the 8.8 pH level in its water.
Waiakea water is deemed to be a beneficial antioxidant and detox to the human body which helps to fight diseases and unbalanced electrons in the blood. Waiakea prides themselves on not only being far from average but also for being organically sourced. Waiakea Water is full of electrolytes and minerals and gathers its water from rain and snow-melt in the Mauna Loa volcano in Hawaii. Waikea also takes part in many eco-friendly and sustainability projects worldwide. Some projects include for every liter sold of Waiakea volcanic water, Waiakea will donate 650 liters more of clean water to certain regions in Africa. I’m excited to hear about this water and can’t wait to try it and personally explore its health benefits.
